How to play
One daily puzzle, plus two open-ended modes once you’ve played it. Takes about a minute.
Daily Draft
The home screen shows today’s setup — how big the band is, a broad style, and a time period — before you’ve tapped anything. Tap Play and it rolls automatically; you build a band to fit it. One scored go per day; come back tomorrow for a new one.
This Magic Moment & Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy
Once today’s Daily Draft is done, the home screen adds two more ways to play, unlimited: This Magic Moment deals one time period for the whole band, same as the daily. Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy deals a fresh time period for every seat instead of one shared era, so the band can span decades. Unlike the daily, neither of these rolls automatically — you tap a big Play button to deal the setup, since there’s nothing to preview first.
Building a band — step by step
- Tap Play. The game deals and rolls the setup — you don’t choose these; they’re dealt to you, like cards. (There’s no genre menu — the style is just part of the deal.)
- Don’t like part of it? Tap the small circular arrow ↻ next to that box to re-roll that one thing, once.
- A list of musicians appears at the bottom. Tap one. If only one open spot fits them, they go straight in; if they could fill more than one, those spots light up and you tap the one you want.
- In Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy, a fresh Spin button appears after each pick — one era roll per seat, same rhythm as the first deal.
- Keep going until every spot is filled.
- You get a grade and the size of venue that band could fill — anywhere from a block party to a stadium.
After a result
Play again repeats whichever mode you just played. Main menu takes you back home, where you can pick the other mode. Share sends a poster of the result. On the daily board, you’ll also see Practice this board (replay today’s exact setup, unscored) and Copy score grid, a spoiler-free row of coloured squares you can paste into a chat — it shows how you did without giving the band away. Playing on consecutive days builds a streak.
